Xbox One Creators Update

Xbox One fans, get ready for an unexpected announcement: following weeks of testing with Xbox Insiders, the Xbox team has just revealed that their version of the Creators Update is rolling today to all gaming consoles. Just like it did with the Anniversary Update rollout last year, Microsoft is kicking off the global rollout of the Creators Update with the Xbox One, while PC users will receive the news bits starting April 11.

As the Anniversary Update was called the “August Update” on the Xbox One, the Xbox team is naming this new update the “Xbox One March Update.” “This is a big release, and includes Beam streaming, an updated Xbox experience with the new Guide, home improvements, and much more,” explained Xbox exec Mike Ybarra. “One major goal for this release is to make streaming your Xbox gameplay even easier. And by updating the navigation of the Xbox console through the new Guide, we’re aiming to put the features and experiences you love the most right at your fingertips.”

You can discover all the new features in the video below:

Overall, there are many highlights in this update, starting with some welcome speed improvements to the Xbox One dashboard. The Xbox team has also worked to improve multitasking, with a new overlay system for achievements and Cortana. Additionally, the update a new accessibility feature called Copilot, which lets you configure two controllers as if they were just one. “As we’ve said, this is just the beginning – be on the lookout for more great features,” added Ybarra.

We’re not seeing the update yet on our non-Insider consoles, so you may have to wait a little bit to receive it. If you’re an Xbox Insider, you’re probably already running the March Update as the new Xbox One OS finally hit the Preview Ring 4 yesterday. Happy downloading, everyone!
