Microsoft shows some love for India and launches the Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop; no Surface Go though

In a press conference in New Delhi, Microsoft announced the launch of the extended Surface family of devices in India – the Surface Book 2 and the Surface Laptop. The Surface Pro was launched in the country earlier this year but there is no word on the just launched Surface Go though.

Microsoft India has had a patchy track record of launching the Surface devices in India. While the company skipped the first two generations of Surface in India, Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4 were launched together in India in January 2016. The latest generation Surface Pro (2017) which went on sale in the US in June last year was launched in India only six months ago.

That said, the Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop is here now. No Surface Studio though, which is expected given the device’s niche focus.

The new Surface Pro will be available online on Amazon and Flipkart as well as leading offline stores like Croma, Reliance, Vijay Sales, and other authorized retailers. For commercial customers, the new Surface Pro will be available through more than 150 commercial resellers.

The Microsoft Surface portfolio is focused on offering premium hardware experience to Windows 10 users, and the pricing of the devices is a testament of the same. What are your thoughts on the Surface Book 2 and Surface Laptop, and would you like to pick one up? Tell us in the comments!
