Microsoft India has partnered with myLaw to offer free online courses to enable students, businesses, and legal professionals to understand data protection, the basics of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), security and best practices around cloud better.

The focus of these courses on cloud computing is around data protection regulations, security, and compliance.

The first course is titled – Cloud Computing: Data Protection Regulation – and covers questions that arise in the context of privacy and data protection, including the transfer of data across transnational cloud computing networks, data protection and data security. This course will also cover how regulations such as the GDPR and Indian data security laws are seeking to address issues in these areas.

The second phase of the course – Cloud Computing: Data Protection Compliance – will be launched in September 2018 and will provide the legal fraternity with tools and practical insights required to meet the heightened privacy and security standards set out under the GDPR, Indian IT Act (2000), and other regulatory frameworks.

Microsoft India and myLaw have co-curated the coursework available here. These courses, focused on upskilling professionals, have a short run of 2-3 hours and come with additional downloadable supplementary content and reference materials.

This partnership will provide the legal and business fraternities with a platform that will equip them with knowledge of cloud computing, data protection, and key regulations as the global laws on privacy evolve.
