If you wish the dark theme on Windows 10 was a bit more consistent, Microsoft has a surprise for you. Indeed, the company has quietly updated Windows Search to apply a dark coat of paint to the entire experience.

As spotted by Windows Latest, this new dark theme update is currently rolling out to all PCs running Windows 10 version 2004, 20H2, 21H1, and newer. All Windows 10 users using the system-wide dark theme will now see dark theme search results instead of the bright white background in Windows Search.

This new dark mode for Windows Search appears to be a server-side update that is rolling out gradually, so you may not see it immediately. It’s good to see that Windows 10 Search now has fully embraced the dark side, but let us know in the comments if you think there’s still room for improvements for dark theme users.
