The most recent Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview update hasn’t been the smoothest in preview history. Some Windows Phone Insiders are reporting bricked devices when upgrading to the latest available phone build 10080; others are saying the mere lack of an update available for their device is a problem.

Owners of the HTC One M8 and recently released Lumia 640 were initially left out the upgrade party to build 10080 due to an issue with the upgrade path. The upgrade path was not being recognized by the servers for these particular devices. Windows Insider boss Gabe Aul had announced on Twitter just a little while ago that the Windows 10 team has fixed the issue for both the Lumia 640 and HTC One M8. It would seem the path is now clear for the Lumia and One M8 running Windows 8.1 GRD2 to upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile build 10080.

#WindowsInsiders with Lumia 640 or HTC One running GDR2 – we now have an upgrade hop for you to build 10080 so you can install.

For those of you out there willing to do so, please let us know of your upgrade journey.
