The official Windows 10 Line app updated today with a similar feature present in Facebook that activates special animations when certain words are used in chat. This update also added a new option for adjusting video playback speed and fixed the usual ambiguous bugs and glitches.

Here’s the official release notes for the Version 5.13.0 Line update:

  • Added fun chat background effects for special occasions or when certain keywords are used.
  • Playback speed can now be adjusted in the video player.
  • Minor bug fixes and other small improvements

Line is one of the most-popular chat apps right now though most of its userbase is located in Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea. It’s had an official app on Windows 10 for a while now that’s mostly been ignored but it’s recently been getting a significantly higher level of support with more frequent updates and new functionality being added.

Recent Windows 10 Line updates added Timeline post and chat translations, markdown support for chats, native Windows 10 notifications, new report options, and paid emoji.
