July 2015 market share: Windows 7 still reigns supreme, Windows 8.1 in second place

The month of July is over and now it’s time to take a look at the market share, thanks to newly released data from Net Applications. According to the data, Windows 7 continues to reign supreme with a 60.75 percent operating system market share during the month of July 2015. Windows 8.1 comes in second place with a market share of 13.09 percent.

According to the data, Windows XP comes in third place with a market share of 11.74 percent, slowly losing market share as each month passes by. To put things into perspective, Windows XP held a market share of 18.93 percent back in January of 2015. Mac OS X 10.10 comes in fourth place with a share of 4.74 percent.

Microsoft released Windows 10 just a few days ago, so it will be quite interesting to see how well it performs over the court of this current month. Do you think Windows 10 will quickly climb in market share come August 1st? Let us know in the comments below. Windows 10 currently holds a market share of 0.39 percent for the month of July, but keep in mind that the operating system was still in testing and not publically available unless you were a part of the Insider Program.
