As Microsoft’s Windows 10 Mobile efforts come to a halt, Instagram appears to be abandoning the platform entirely. The latest update to the Instagram app has brought one major change for mobile users:

The Instagram app is no longer available for Windows 10 Mobile in the Microsoft Store.

There has been no official announcement from Facebook or Instagram regarding the change of heart on Microsoft’s mobile platform. Instagram was one of the long-supported apps that had helped keep people on the platform, as Facebook remained committed with its suite of UWP apps, until now. Users have reported that the app no longer appears in the Store, and that Windows 10 Mobile is no longer listed as a supported platform, with PC being the only supported platform.

It is important to note that, Instagram also recently pulled the plug on its Apple Watch app. A sign that the image-based social network is slimming down its suite of apps in an effort to focus on platforms that deliver the level of activity required to maintain the investment of an app.
