Halo 5: Guardians is free to play this weekend with Xbox Live Gold

Halo 5: Guardians, the first Halo game developed by 343 Industries for the Xbox One is free to play with Xbox Live Gold this weekend. The free trial starts today and will last through Sunday, January 14 at 10:59 PM PST.

The trial includes the full game, with a solo campaign playable with up to three friends online (there is no local co-op option, unfortunately) and plenty of multiplayer modes including the fan-favorite Warzone. Halo 5: Guardians is also Xbox One X enhanced with support for 4K graphics (with dynamic resolution scaling). A little more than two years after its release, the game remains a great-looking FPS and it really shines on the new Xbox One X. However, be aware that the game is a 100GB download without its additional 4K assets.

You can download Halo 5: Guardians by checking the Gold area from the Xbox dashboard, or by using the link below. Last but not least, you can purchase the full game for just $15.99 (20% off) for the duration of the free play days.
