Windows 10 Insiders were given an evening treat last night when Dona Sarkar and the Windows 10 Insider team pushed out build 14986 to insiders in the Fast Ring. While the build brought a plethora of new features, it also delivered some major improvements to the game bar and the ability to go full screen with more games on Windows 10.

According to Dona Sarkar, this latest build adds support for 19 games in full-screen mode. Games such as ARMA 3, Battlefield 1, Dark Souls III, Fallout 4, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and Overwatch all now have support for full-screen mode. Other games include:

  • Civilization V
  • Mad Max
  • Mafia 2
  • NBA 2K16
  • Star Wars: The Old Republic
  • StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm
  • The Binding of Isaac
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  • Terraria
  • Tom Clancy’s The Division
  • Total War: WARHAMMER
  • Warframe
  • World of Tanks

The full-screen feature can be controlled through the Windows 10 Game Bar, which is accessed by pressing Windows Key and G. After pressing the keys, in the settings dialog, look for the “Show Game bar when I play full-screen games” checkbox. According to Major Nelson, With this setting activated, Game DVR only runs when you activate it and has no performance impact on your games.
