A couple of weeks ago we reported the former lead of the Microsoft Surface and NFL collaboration Jeff Tran was sentenced to twenty-eight months in prison for fraud and now it appears another company employee will be facing criminal charges.

According to the Associated Press, a former Microsoft employee from Ukraine is being charged by the U.S. attorney’s office for stealing digital currency while testing the company’s online retail sales platform.

Twenty-five year old Volodymyr Kvashuk has been accused of stealing digital currency and then reselling those goods to the tune of $2.8 million with the intentions to buy a $1.7 million home and $160,000 Tesla as part of his plan to bank $10 million.

Kvashuk was fired by Microsoft in June of 2018 but only arrested as of Tuesday, July 17, 2019, and is awaiting trial.

There are few details of the case at the moment as the US Attorney’s Office, Microsoft, and Kvashuk have not responded to inquiries.
