Facebook app for Windows Phone Beta

Microsoft recently launched a new Beta program for the new Facebook app for Windows Phone, designed to help speed up the delivery of new features in the official app. Microsoft has now released an update to the app offering bug fixes and various improvements.

This new update now bumps the build number to 5.0.1.1 and offers better support for special characters when entering text, on top of other minor fixes and imrpovements. Other fixes include the latest comments to posts, which are now displayed at the bottom. Viewing pictures in landscape will no longer show annoying elements and the update also fixes a bug with the share link.

For those who are unaware, the new Facebook app for Windows Phone features a major redesign and has implemented several user-requested features. Those features include support for high-res photos, post sharing, and Facebook Timeline. Microsoft is looking for Beta testers to try out the app and provide feedback as well as create a Windows Phone Store review. Running the Beta app alongside the current Facebook app (4.2.1) is also possible.
