Cortana has been molded into something that’s compatible with just about every IoT device out there. With that flexibility in mind, you only need just a few things to get started. In the latest short video from Channel 9, Cortana configuration was explained – along with a quick overview of what users will need to get started.

For any Windows 10 IoT Core device, Cortana can be enabled on startup. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • An internet connection
  • A display with microphone and speaker
  • A Microsoft account

By using these in combination, creators and users of Windows 10 IoT Core devices will be able to implement Microsoft’s favorite digital assistant through verbal recognition and setup.

Pretty simple, right? Microsoft is most certainly making sure we know that you don’t need much to get started with Cortana on your IoT device. If you’re interested in getting Cortana on your device to tell you about the weather, search Bing, or do any of that other neat stuff, just check out the embedded video.
