Chromium-based Microsoft Edge now lets you switch search engines on the Canary channel

Jack Wilkinson

Microsoft’s rebuild of Microsoft Edge with Chromium is still well underway, but a new feature has appeared for those who are using the Canary builds.

Previously, Bing was the sole search engine that was available on Microsoft Edge. Now, early adopters can make use of 3 other search engines:

  • Google
  • DuckDuckGo
  • Yahoo

This should be a welcome addition for those testing Chromium-based Microsoft Edge.

Despite the addition of these new search engines, Bing will remain the default search engine and is also Microsoft’s recommended search engine (for obvious reasons).
