CES: Intel criticizes Microsoft’s long winded tablet strategy

CNET News reports that Intel and Dell have for a long time tried to convince Microsoft to develop an optimized tablet OS but to no avail. Microsoft only recently announced the porting of Windows to the ARM architecture. Many in the industry feel that by the time Microsoft launches Windows 8 with its ARM derivative, its competitors (iOS and Android) will have already fully established themselves as the defacto standards in the tablet industry similar to the current situation in the smartphone space.
