CES 2014: LG unveils the Ultra PC, Tab-Book 2, and 27-inch AIO PC

LG is not being a stranger to this years CES event – unveiling three new consumer devices running Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 operating system. LG touts these new models as being versatile, enhanced mobility, refined design, and having lightning fast performance.

First of all, we have the LG Ultra PC (model 13Z940) which weighs less than 1kg and sports a clean, minimalist design. The device features an Intel Core i5 processor (Haswell), a 128GB or 256GB SSD for quick access and greater user convenience, along with a Full HD 13.3-inch IPS display. The device also sports the company’s Super Narrow Bezel design for an industry-leading 4.4mm thin bezels. The LG Ultra PC comes in at 13.6mm at its thickest point and weighs in at a very travel-friendly 980g. The Ultra PC features Reader Mode, allowing the user to alter the background of any onscreen image to resemble paper, reducing eye-strain and energy consumption.

Secondly, we have the LG Tab-Book 2, which is the sequel to the original Tab-Book. Incidentally, the original Tab-Book made its debut back in 2013 during the CES event. The Tab-Book 2 features an optimized 10-point touch control, an 11.6-inch Full HD IPS touch screen display, and slide-out QWERTY keyboards that hide under the touch screen display. The device also packs a fourth generation Intel Core i5 processor.

And finally, we have the LG 27-inch AIO PC, which features a crystal clear Full HD IPS display and an included remote that lets you switch from computer to TV mode. The device also features an Intel Core CPU and NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M graphics card. There is also a PIP (Picture In Picture) feature, as well as an HDMI output.

“Lightweight, beautiful and fast, the latest PC products from LG offer unmatched versatility. Our 2014 lineup is specifically designed to let customers take advantage of cutting-edge technology in a myriad of innovative ways. Essentially, the new generation of PC products from LG enables users to find the perfect computer for their needs, whether it’s for home, work, school or entertainment,” LG’s head of IT Business Hyoung-sei Park stated in a press release.

All three models run Windows 8.1. LG has yet to reveal when these devices will launch (likely later this year) and for how much.
