European regulators are constantly pressuring Google to provide more openness about their search engine due to reports of unfair discrimination against certain websites.

According to Brett Gordon, a professor at Columbia Business School, “The Commission would have to show that Google unfairly tampered with their algorithm to disadvantage other search services.” The EU’s patience in dealing with these matters and its favorable record against major tech firms such as Microsoft and Intel will no doubt signify that a long legal battle lies ahead for Google.
