The next Assassin’s Creed game will be a return to basics if the rumors and supposed leaks are to be trusted.

The latest such is from YouTuber jOnathan, who posted a video detailing more info about the game, which will apparently be titled “Assassin’s Creed Mirage,” and is set for a spring 2023 release. (The video is in French; you can go into settings and change the subtitles to your language of choice).

jOnathan also claims that the next Assassin’s Creed will be set in Baghdad, with a young Basim as protagonist. It is reported that the game will focus more on stealth and will see the removal of many of the RPG elements of recent AC games like Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla. Rather, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take inspiration from the first game in the series.

All this falls in line with what has been previously speculated about the game. It’ll be interesting to see how this return to AC’s roots will sit with fans if the rumors prove to be true.
