The Xbox Series X is Microsoft’s fourth generation of video game consoles following the original Xbox, the Xbox 360, and the Xbox One. The console was first announced during Microsoft’s E3 2019 Xbox presentation and is set for release sometime in late-2020.

Microsoft’s Xbox Series X will fully support all Xbox One video games in addition to its own Xbox Series X titles. OG Xbox and Xbox 360 games with backwards compatibility enabled will also be playable on the Xbox Series X and all Xbox One controllers will be usable. It’s unknown if the Xbox Series X will support the Xbox One Kinect motion sensor.

Many existing and future Xbox One video games such as Fortnite, Destiny 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will also have Xbox Series X versions. Those Xbox One games with the Smart Delivery label will unlock the Xbox Series X version of the title for free.
