CES 2015: Asus announces 3 new Transformer Chi Windows-based hybrid PC's

Taking the stage at CES 2015, Asus has just announced a slew of new Windows-based hybrid PC’s. The Asus Transformer Book Chi series of devices represent some of the slimmest designs in the world.

Starting with the high-end T300, it has a 12.5” display with a stunning resolution of 2560×1440, the new Intel Core M processor which is probably the secret behind the slim form factor considering it can be passively cooled, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of solid state storage. The T300 comes in at a mere 7.6mm (1.65cm) thin frame that weights 720g, this makes the device thinner than Apple’s Macbook Air. This model will cost $799 while an identical T300 with a 1080p display will cost $699.

Then there’s the T100, it features an Intel Atom processor, a 10.1” 1920×1200 resolution display, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of SSD storage, and 10 hours of battery life compared to the 8 hours the T300 achieves. This particular model will cost $399.

The last Transformer Chi model is the T90, the lowest-end of the bunch. The T90 has an 8.9” display with a HD+ display (1280×800), an Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM and a choice of either 32 or 64GB of SSD storage. The T90 comes in at $299.

All models will be launching sometime next month. There has been no mention as to whether or not those prices include the keyboards that the Transformer series can dock into.
