Microsoft has announced today (August 1st) the winners of the annual Airband Grant Fund. There were four winners across five states here in the US, all of which are aiming to help bring broadband internet access to rural communities.
Microsoft has long been pushing for the use of TV White Space technology in order to bring broadband to those who live in rural areas across the world. In the latest win for this initiative, Microsoft is now pairing up with RADWIN.
Microsoft tweeted about their Airband Initiative Grant Fund just a couple of weeks before the trademarks went through, indicating that the company is making a significant branding push for the Airband name.
