Hello, everyone, and welcome back to OnPodcast: The OnMSFT.com Podcast. This is our weekly podcast series featuring our contributing writers, Kareem Anderson and Arif Bacchus.

This week, we chatted about a lot of things! Arif and Kareem started off by talking about the big Windows 10 news — Windows 10 on ARM finally getting the long-rumored 64-bit app emulation. Of course, they also talked about the Cyberpunk 2077 launch, too, as well as the news of xCloud coming to PC and iOS in the new year. There’s even some talk about Windows 10X, too.

And let’s not forget the Week Ahead segment. In this week’s week ahead, Arif and Kareem recapped some Xbox news coming out of the Game Awards. They’ll also talk about Halo Infinite, as well as some Teams stuff, too.

Segment 1: Windows 10 on ARM getting 64-bit app emulation (3:03-16:49)

Windows 10 Hero Image

Coming as part of the latest Windows Insider Dev release, Windows 10 on ARM finally got its big update, bringing 64-bit app emulation. Though still in preview, Arif and Kareem chatted in this opening segment about how this could be a response to Apple’s own custom ARM-based M1 chip. They also talked about what this means for Surface Pro X users or anyone with a Qualcomm-based PC.

Segment 2: xCloud comes to iOS and Windows 10 in 2021 (16:49-21:59)

Cloud Gaming Project Xcloud

Next up is another topic that’s gotten a lot of attention this week — xCloud coming to iOS and Windows in 2021. If you missed it, Microsoft said that in Spring 2021, they’ll bring Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to Windows PCs via the Xbox app and browser, and iOS through the mobile browser. This was a topic Arif and Kareem went over before in a previous episode, but now that it’s official, they rehashed the topic and talked about what it could mean for Xbox’s market share, and more.

Segment 3: Rumors of Windows 10X being complied and ready for new devices early next year (21:59-31:25)

Windows 10x Start Menu

Although Microsoft doesn’t like talking about it, in this third segment Arif and Kareem chat about Windows 10X. Rumor had it that Windows 10X has been compiled and is ready for new devices early next year. With the news that 10X is no longer for dual-screen PCs and rather budget laptops and tablets, Arif and Kareem went back and forth about if this could help Microsoft gain in the education space.

Segment 4: Cyberpunk 2077 launches (31:25-39:43)

Cyberpunk 2077

Everyone this past week was busy Tweeting about or playing Cyberpunk 2077, the latest RPG from CD Projekt Red. In this final segment, Arif and Kareem chatted about the game. Arif talked about his experience playing on PC, and Kareem discussed our own Lauren’t GIret’s impressions, as well as some bugs in the game that have been plaguing players.

Week Ahead (39:43-end)

For this week ahead segment, there were a lot of Xbox stories. Arif and Kareem recapped some of the news coming out of the Game Awards. They also talked about Halo Infinite, as well as some Teams news from the week!
