A couple of new features are set to make their way to Microsoft Teams according to Microsoft 365 Roadmap, among them is the ability to pop out shared meeting content in a new window. Mobile users will also have access to Intelligent translation.

As spotted by the folks at Neowin, “the Intelligent translation is perhaps designed to complement the inline chat translation feature currently in Teams for Android and iOS. The latter allows users to translate messages that are not their languages, and what Intelligent translation will likely do is detect and then prompt users to translate messages that are not in their languages to their native languages. This will be limited to Android and iOS users only”.

As for the feature that is set to allow users to pop out shared meeting content in a new window, Microsoft has not indicated how it is supposed to work. But according to Rahul’s speculations, “the likelihood is that it will work very similar to the ability to pop out chats into dedicated windows”. However, it will be limited to web, desktop, and Mac users.

Microsoft has indicated that these features are likely to reach general availability this year in August. That said, be sure to also check out our post where we highlight the new features that have made it to Microsoft Teams on Web for small businesses.
