Forbes has just updated its list of the world’s billionaires, and to no surprise, Bill Gates is still the richest man in the world (via ChristianPost.) As of March 20th, the Microsoft founder is listed with a net worth of $86 billion (up $27.6 billion,) which is roughly $10 billion more than the net worth of Warren Buffet, who is second on the list with a total net worth of $75.6 billion.
Other notables on the list include Amazon.com CEP Jeff Bezos, who is third on the list with a total net worth of $72.8 billion. Zara’s Amancio Ortega and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg round out the top five with net worths of $71.3 billion and $56 billion. Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer landed 21st on the list with a net worth of $30 billion, and fellow Microsoft co-founder, Paul Allen ranked 42nd on Forbes’ list with $19.9 billion.
According to Forbes, Bill Gates is the richest man in the world for the fourth year in a row now, and the richest person in the world for 18 out of the past 23 years. Total net worth of everyone on the Forbes list also rose by 18% to $7.67 trillion, and the number of billionaires jumped 13% to 2,043 from 1,810 last year. The list also saw 195 newcomers, and 15 new self-made women. United States President Donald Trump, meanwhile, did not even make the top portions of the list, and was ranked 544th, with a total net worth of “only” $3.65 billion.
