“Wow. Wow. Finally, you’ve done something useful!” That’s what Microsoft Fuse Labs Researcher Colleen Estrada’s sister exclaimed when the two shared photos from Colleen’s Hawaii vacation over their phones, without an app, using Xim. The tool, which allows Windows Phone, Android, and iPhone users to share photos to other phones, or now to an Xbox One, an Amazon Fire TV, or a Fire TV Stick, can share photos from your camera roll, Instagram, Facebook, Dropbox, or OneDrive.
Only one person needs to have Xim installed, and you can invite people to share your photos from your phone’s contact list, via email or phone number. If your friends also have Xim installed, though, they can add photos and/or people to the conversation.
Microsoft’s Fuse Labs is planning more updates for the popular app, we’ll keep you posted.Microsoft, Microsoft Research, Xim
