With the announcement of the new Xbox One console, Kinect has undoubtedly also received an update. Kinect now supports a 1080p HD wide view sensor for Kinect games and video calling on Skype. This sensor is so much more powerful than its predecessor.

The device is also way more intelligent than before, as it understands more joints on the body than before, and understands rotation, for example rotating your wrist. The device can also tell balance and weight.

The new Kinect device will ship alongside the Xbox One later this year, along with brand new Kinect orientated games and apps for the Xbox One.
