Microsoft has just released the Xbox One 1905 update today, which brings improvements for Xbox Live Messaging, Friends List and Sorting. This new system update follows the 1904 update released in April, and we’ve just learned today that a 1906 update will also be coming in June.
Brad Rossetti, the head of the Xbox Insider Program announced the upcoming 1906 update on Twitter today, teasing that a first preview build could be released as soon as Monday.

The Xbox One 1906 update will probably be another minor release, just like the 1905 update. It’s also worth noting that the 1905 update is still coming from the same 19H1 development branch that gave us the Xbox One 1904 update in April, as well as the Windows 10 May 2019 update on the PC side.
We don’t know yet what’s coming in the Xbox One 1906 update, but we guess that some experimental features that have been in testing in preview 1905 builds may well end up there. We’re thinking about the new “Play Later” list for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as well as the Voice channels in Xbox Live Messaging that were mentioned in a previous build.
As usual, Preview Alpha Xbox Insiders should get the new bits first, so make sure to check your Xbox Insider settings before the next testing period kicks off.
