Microsoft’s earnings report from the first quarter of fiscal year 2017 has come in, and it shed a bit of light on the success of the Xbox One this past quarter. While the console had a rocky beginning as it first launched, it’s recently experienced some serious growth, with September being its third month in a row ahead of the competition in sales.

According to the latest earnings report from Microsoft, that growth in sales has been accompanied by a 21% increase in active Xbox Live users, resulting in a total of around 47 million users.

All in all, Microsoft couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off the 2017 fiscal year – these past few months have done a lot to inspire confidence in Xbox One users.
