Folks, we have a piece of bad news for you today: error 0x87dd0006 just reared its ugly head again. Thousands of Xbox users can’t sign in to their accounts or access previously purchased content.

Microsoft is aware of this issue and is working on a fix.

This is actually the second time that error is preventing Xbox users from connecting to Xbox Live. Needless to say, users are very angry with Microsoft:

I am entitled to compensation. This has been very poor and has happened several times from Xbox over the last 2-3 days. We the players pay for a service but can’t access it. If we can’t sign in, then we can’t play games. We demand compensation.

We’ll update this news report as soon as new information is available.

UPDATE: It seems that Microsoft has fixed this issue. The majority of Xbox Live users can now access their accounts.
