Xbox Elite controller releases on the same day as Halo 5: Guardians

A listing on the Microsoft store recently revealed to us the release date of the Xbox Elite controller. It seems like the controller is going to be available to gamers on October 27th, the same day that Halo 5: Guardians hits shelves. The controller is being sold for $150, making it a hard sell to most gamers. That being said, it offers quite a few features that competitive gamers might be interested in.
The biggest selling point of the Xbox Elite controller is that it allows the user to change its parts, swapping out components of the controller in order to optimize for whatever game you're playing. The default controllers are made so that they can feel nice while playing every type of game, but that means that they don't really specialize in anything. Having interchangeable parts is a huge selling point for some people.
For gamers who want to shave a bit off the time-to-kill for semi-auto weapons in games like Halo 5: Guardians, the Xbox Elite controller runs on a hair trigger, so you'll have an easier time firing quickly. This also means that you don't need to slam down the trigger every time that you fire, so you won't be wearing down your controller at all.

While the Xbox Elite controller seems like it's something that a lot of people may be interested in, $150 is still a significant amount to pay, especially in a world where you can get simple add-ons to existing controllers in order to significantly improve your game. Accessories like Kontrol Freeks and other similar products can be picked up for under $15, and perform a lot of the same tasks that this controller is made for. That being said, those accessories can wear out. The Xbox Elite controller seems like a more versatile and more permanent option for competitive gamers.
