Just like last month, Microsoft's popular Xbox 360 console is still the number one gaming console in the United States, beating out Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii. The company has also offered several statistics for the month of February.
"Xbox 360 continues to hold the number one spot in the U.S., selling more units than any other console for 14 consecutive months. Sustained consumer demand for Xbox 360 and Kinect have helped maintain its top position, even in the seventh year on the market," Microsoft stated in an official blog post. In February of this year, the Xbox 360 sold 426,000 units. On top of that, this is the twelfth consecutive month that the Xbox 360 has owned over 40% of the current generation console market share. Total retail spending for the Xbox 360 in February totaled $383 million. Of the top ten games (any console), "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning," "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3," "UFC Undisputed," "NBA 2K12," and "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," were Xbox 360 titles.
