Xbox 360 gets exclusive console rights to Verizon's upcoming Redbox Instant movie service

Verzion, who launched a private beta of Redbox Instant back in December, is now giving exclusive console rights to Microsoft's Xbox 360 platform. Redbox Instant is a cool movie streaming service with a variety of movies to choose from.

"Today we’re happy to reveal that Redbox Instant by Verizon will be coming to Xbox 360 in the very near future. If you are currently a Redbox Instant beta participant, you’ll receive an email with a unique code to access the app on Xbox 360 in the coming days. Interested newcomers to the Redbox Instant beta can request entry into the beta by visiting," Microsoft's Larry Hryb stated in a blog post.

A Redbox Instant by Verizon subscription package will run you $8 a month for DVD movies, or $9 a month for Blu-ray movies, which combines four one-night credits for the latest movie release at Redbox kiosks. Xbox 360 users can use an app to purchase or rent the newest movies without a subscription. Microsoft plans on releasing more information once it gets closer to launching Redbox Instant on Xbox 360.
