Windows team rolling out Windows 10 Mobile Insider build 10586.338 to the Release Preview Ring

The slow proliferation of Windows 10 mobile builds continues. Earlier today, the Windows team released a seemingly two-week-old Insider preview build to Slow Ring participants, and now the team is back at it, releasing Windows 10 Mobile Insider build 10586.338 to the Release Preview Ring.

For those keeping track, Slow Ring Insiders are now on the most recently flighted preview of the Windows 10 mobile operating system with build 14342.1004 and the latest feature sets aimed at the release of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Meanwhile, Release Preview Ring participants can now download the most recent stable, production-worthy version of the mobile OS at 10586.338, sans new Redstone-related upgrades and features.

As the numerical upgrade indicates, Release Preview Ring participants should perhaps prepare themselves for a relatively lackluster build upgrade (which, being on the RPR, is seemingly exactly what they are looking forward to). Similar to the sub-point bump that accompanied build 14342.1004, the latest Release Preview upgrade is presumably sporting a list of fixes and patches with no real features to claim at this point, all rolled up into a cumulative update of sorts for users.

While the Windows team has informed Insiders that there is no new build scheduled for release today, there is speculation that a new build should be delivered sometime this week for Mobile Insiders. With that being said, the appearance of build 10586.338 for the Release Preview Ring stands as a testament to the Windows team’s attempts to deliver a stable and reliable experience down the flight chain of Windows 10 Mobile development.

Happy downloading, Insiders!
