A couple of months ago, Windows Insiders received an updated version of the Windows Store PC app with several Fluent Design elements, including a new background with a little bit of transparency. This acrylic windows treatment was later softened when a recent update introduced a new light gray background colour to the Windows Store on PCs and phones.

After a bit of experimentation on the PC side though, Microsoft now seems ready to give the Windows 10 Mobile version of the Windows Store some Fluent Design touches, too. As spotted by the Twitter account ChangeWindows, the version 11708.1000.87.0 of the app, which is now rolling out to Windows Inisders on the Release Preview Ring, brings a new transparent header to the mobile app.

The effect is very subtle, and it’s not yet present in the sliding panel that pop ups when you tap the hamburger menu. You can have a better look in the screenshots below.

While this is a pretty modest start, we’re looking forward to see more Fluent Design touches being applied to the mobile app.  If you’re on the Release Preview Ring, let us know what you think of the subtle change in the comments.
