Windows phones are back in stock on the USA Microsoft Store website, still promoted in Australia

A big deal was made about a week ago when the official Microsoft Store website seemingly stopped selling Windows phones.

While the online store has stopped selling Microsoft’s own Lumia-branded handsets and has removed all prominent marketing for Windows phones from the website, the Microsoft Store is still very much selling the Alcatel IDOL 4S Windows phone which is considered by many to be one of the better smartphones that run the Windows 10 Mobile operating system.

The fact that the Microsoft Store is selling just one model of Windows phone isn’t exactly a huge endorsement for the line of smartphones which are admittedly being phased out, possibly to make room for the rumored Surface Phone, but it would be dishonest to say that the Microsoft Store has completely abandoned Windows phones. That hasn’t happened completely just yet.

Something else to consider is the international Microsoft Store websites. The Australian Microsoft Store website, for example, is still very much promoting Windows phones and their related accessories and apps. Interestingly, they seem to be pushing the HP Elite x3 phone over the Alcatel IDOL 4S.
