There aren’t many Windows Phone devices from manufacturers not named Nokia, but in case you’re still using a Samsung Ativ S Neo tied to Sprint, you may want to check if your handset received the latest Windows Phone 8 Update 3. Sprint has started rolling out the latest update for the Ativ S Neo, bringing all of the goodies introduced with the GDR3 update, as well as a few bug fixes and improvements.
To refresh your memory, Windows Phone 8 GDR3 comes with several much needed features, including improved storage management that gives users the ability to free up storage space on the phone and manage temporary files, improved Bluetooth and internet sharing, app switcher that allows users to close running applications, a driving mode that restricts notifications while on the road, and a bunch of bug fixes and improvements. The complete Windows Phone 8 Update 3 changelog can be viewed here.
Here’s a vague changelog provided by Sprint:
- Fix for SIM contact notification in the people app
- Updates Microsoft software to GDR3
- Special software build to address a customer issue with the camera
The roll out is gradual, and it may take some time for the update to reach all devices. If you’re impatient, you can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings >> Phone Update >> Check for Updates and download the latest Windows Phone 8 offering. If you already updated your device to this, share your experience with us using the comments below.Further reading: Samsung, Windows Phone
