The Windows Device Recovery Tool can be used to install the latest version of Windows approved for your phone, or  fix software problems. Today, Microsoft has just pushed out an update for the tool (via Windows Central.)

The mandatory update brings in support for third party devices from manufacturers such as BLU, XOLO, MICROMAX, KM, DIGINNOS, INVERSENET, JENESIS, MCJ and FREETEL It also brings minor updates to HoloLens Recovery, and the usual minor bug fixes.

Such an update is not a surprise, as frequent updates always come to the tool as new Windows Phone devices are released. The update is also good indicator of Microsoft’s continued commitment to Windows on Mobile. In case you have not already used the tool, you can find it by clicking this link. As always, though, please drop us a comment below and let us know if you have ever used this tool to recover your Windows Phone device.
