Windows 8.1 Build 9415 screenshots leak

Windows 8.1 Build 9415

Screenshots of Windows 8.1 Build 9415 have leaked onto the web today, showing off some of the new features we can expect to see in the Windows 8.1 Preview in late June. Build 9415 doesn’t include a Start Button on the taskbar, however the Start “tip” has been replaced with the official Windows 8 logo, seen in the recent official screenshots from Microsoft.

Build 9415 was sent out to selected partners for testing. The build has a build string of 9415.0.130525-0845 which means the build was compiled on the 25th of May 2013.

From the screenshots, we can confirm that Windows 8.1 will colour desktop application tiles on the desktop, much like it does with Metro apps. This will make the Start Screen a lot more colourful for desktop users. Of course, as these screenshots come from a 3rd party, unofficial source, we ask you to look at them with salt. They could be fake.

Microsoft is set to release a preview build of Windows 8.1 this June, along with detailing more about the update during the Build 2013 developer conference. Stay tuned!
