In a new blog post, Microsoft details the new Share Charm feature available in the upcoming Windows 8 operating system. Using the Share Charm, a user can easily share links from Internet Explorer or any other app with ease, without ever leaving that app.
In the past, we would have to copy the link from the address bar if we wanted to share an interesting website, switch to another applications, and paste that link. With Windows 8’s Share Charm, users can easily swipe from the right, select the Share charm, and instantly share their content between apps with simplicity.
To share a website, Internet Explorer 10 will create more than just a link, but also some HTML that includes a rich representation of the page. “IE10 creates link previews to both provide a better sharing experience for users, and to help connect Web developers to Windows 8 Share. With a little extra meta-data markup, sites can define what information is included in their link previews,” Microsoft adds. Visit the source link for a more in-depth look at the markup used to create a better link preview, so when users select the Share charm while on your website, they can share more than just a link.IE10, Microsoft, Windows 8
