Microsoft has just released new optional updates for Windows 10 version 1903 and older. These new optional patches only include “security updates to Internet Explorer,” which is interesting as optional updates released late in the month usually include a long list of fixes.

Anyway, if you’re running the Windows 10 version 1903, you can download the build 18362.357 (KB4522016) today with the aforementioned Internet Explorer fixes. This build include the same two known issues that Microsoft identified in this month’s Patch Tuesday update, including a problem with quieter audio in games and another bug causing certain some Input Method Editor (IME) to become unresponsive or cause have high CPU usage.

These security updates for Internet Explorer are also available in the build 17763.740 (KB4522015) for Windows 10 version 1809, as well as the build 17134.1009 (KB4522014) for Windows 10 version 1803. Similar optional patches are also available for Windows 10 versions 1709, 1703, 1607, and 1507, though keep in mind that only Windows 10 Enterprise and Education users will receive these updates.

If you choose to skip these optional patches, you’ll still get these updates to improve security when using Internet Explorer next month when the new Patch Tuesday is available.
