Adobe Photoshop is now running natively on Windows 10 on ARM PCs such as Microsoft’s Surface Pro X. Adobe quietly announced the rollout of the ARM64 version of PhotoShop on a support page earlier this month (via Windows Central), where the company detailed some of the features that are not yet available on this new native ARM version.
The list of missing features include Windows Dial support, the Shake Reduction filter, Invite to Edit workflows, and the ability to import, export, and play embedded video layers. Adobe says that these features will be added in future releases, but there’s no ETA yet.
Be aware that the new ARM64 version of Adobe Photoshop requires Windows 10 on ARM version 20H1 or newer, and PC with a minimum of 8GB of RAM. If you decide to update your version of Photoshop to the new ARM64 version, you also won’t be able to continue using the emulated 32-bit version of Photoshop and other 32-bit Creative Cloud applications.
Even though Windows 10 on ARM PCs have been around for quite some time, Adobe released a native version of Photoshop for M1 Macs a bit earlier in March 2021. Adobe Photoshop for Apple Silicon also has some limitations compared to the legacy app running in emulation mode, but Adobe is also working on erasing the feature gap in future updates.
