Windows 10: How to quickly make desktop shortcuts

Let’s face it, there is more than one way to create a shortcut on your desktop. While some of you prefer to keep your desktop clean and clutter-free, there are others who prefer to save shortcuts on the desktop for quick access, rather than having to rely on the Start menu/screen to launch an app or program.

With Windows 10, there is an easy method of saving shortcuts to your desktop. Let’s say for example you have a new app or game, or a program, and you wish to have it on your desktop. All you have to do is open the Start menu, find the app or program you want, and click on the tile and drag it to your desktop. Bingo, you now have a shortcut saved. How easy was that?

In the past, we used to right click on a program, hover over Sent to, and then hit Desktop. This is no longer needed — especially for apps and programs that appear on your Start menu. You can drag apps from your Start menu or from the All Apps area, right to your desktop. Give it a shot and let us know what you think!
