WhatsApp is one of the most popular cross-platform IM clients available for mobile devices. Recently, WhatsApp released an update for the beta version of the application — it’s not available for the public and is done with a specific group of people. The latest update brings a few nice features on board, including a new settings screen, custom backgrounds for chats and more.
The most notable feature in the latest update is the ability to set custom backgrounds for chats. Users have a few options when it comes to choosing the right background for chats in the app. Customers can take a photo using their camera, select an image from your own collection of photos or search the web for the perfect one. The app comes with a built-in search engine that can pull an image from the web and set it as the custom background.
Additionally, it appears the app also has a media auto-download feature, as well as custom notification sounds. There’s no word on when these exciting features will launch on the stable version, but let’s hope it doesn’t take too much time. We’ll update you as soon as they are officially launched.Further reading: Windows Phone
