WhatsApp on Windows Phone

If you’re one of the very many people who use WhatsApp on a regular basis, you may be interested to know that a new update for the beta has brought a new suite of features to the messenger. The update takes the name of 2.16.308.0, and brings with it features like video calling and animated GIFs.

Here’s the proper changelog:

• Introducing WhatsApp video calling. With free video calls, you can have face-to-face chats with your friends and family around the world. Data charges may apply. (requires Windows Phone 8.1+)

• You can now send and receive animated GIFs

• Draw or add text and emojis to photos

The update is now available through the Windows Store, so you can start to sink your teeth into the new features whenever you want. WhatsApp is available for Windows 10 Mobile and Windows Phone 8.1, but desktop users are out of luck.

Thanks to John for the tip!
