Weather app and Facebook Beta app for Windows Phone 8 receive new updates

Weather and Facebook Beta for Windows Phone 8 receive new updates

Microsoft’s official Facebook app (Beta) for Windows Phone 8 just received a new update today. In this update, which is rather minor, bugs have been squashed and various performance improvements were made. The official Weather app, which is exclusive to Nokia Lumia devices, also received a new update, adding several new features.

If you enjoy testing out the newest features before they are rolled out to the non-Beta version of the Facebook app, then you will enjoy giving this Beta app a spin. This update, which bumps the version number to, brings forth bugs fixes and improvements. No other details were mentioned as Microsoft did not provide a change log.

On the other hand, the official Weather app has been bumped to version and features a fix to the banner ads functionality. The update also removes augmented reality, my friends weather, and iwitness photos. The tile content has been updated, along with the main panorama. The 10 days forecast line break has also been fixed, along with several minor bugs being squashed.

“Get current weather with rich-image tiles on your desktop and click-into our app when you need more weather details, forecasts, and severe weather info. No other app compares to the weather channel for providing severe weather alerts delivered to your desktop, while allowing you to see local area radar to stay abreast of storms, as well as watch videos produced by the industry leader, the weather channel,” the app description reads.
