The Game Awards 2016 is now just a few short hours away, and you can watch the event live on all sorts of platforms including your Xbox One, Xbox 360, and more. In line with the awards, Major Nelson has taken to his blog to highlight how you can watch, and also root for your favorite Xbox games during the event.
The 2016 installment of the awards will begin tonight, Thursday, December 1st at 5:30 PT, and will run until 8:30 PT. It will be steaming on Beam, YouTube Live, Twitch, Facebook Live Video, Twitter Live, and Snapchat. If you’re streaming on Xbox, however, Major Nelson wants you to know what the Xbox one Stream will include interactive features via the free Xbox Live Event interactive app (XLEi app), including the opportunity to vote on the nominated titles you think are going to win the category. Here is how to participate:
- Before the nominees of each category are announced, grab your controller and make your prediction from the on-screen list.
- Think fast! The quicker you predict the right answer, the more points you get when the winner is announced.
- Points are tallied to a community leaderboard and the top ten gamertags will be showcased during the broadcast.
- Plus, you can check out your personal stats along the way.
- At the end of the show, we’ll announce the champion and reveal their gamertag as part of the broadcast.
And, as an added bonus, there also will be flash sales for certain nominated titles. In case you didn’t know, nominated titles include Forza Horizon 3 for best Sports/Racing Game, Gears of War 4 for Best Action Game and Best Multiplayer Game, and Killer Instinct Season 3 for Best Fighting Game.
