Visual Studio 2019 to be released on April 2 with 9am PST launch event

Microsoft is preparing to release Visual Studio 2019, the next iteration of its popular integrated development environment for Windows and Mac. The company has set April 2 as its release date, which will happen at the 9 AM PST launch event the same day. The company promises “even more productivity than ever before” in this release, which is expected to increase coding space and include smarter debugging. It also promises “something for everyone,” regardless of the programing language or platform they prefer to develop for.

Visual Studio 2019 has been in development for some time, having been announced in June of last year, and a public preview of the development software was made available last December. The third preview was made available just yesterday, and the company says that it will continue to provide future preview updates, accept feedback to help shape the product before its general availability.

Microsoft says that the April 2 event will not only focus on development software’s release, but also on Azure DevOps and the company’s GitHub service. The beginning of the keynote will highlight some of the new featured the company has added to its software, and will move on to live streamed sessions which include Q&A’s to explain the features and programming languages even further.

With the release of Visual Studio 2019 just around the corner, the company encourages those interested in attending to go to the event website for more information and a live calendar. In the mean time, Preview is fully available for download for anyone wishing to try it an help make it better before then.
