USB flash drive concept compartmentalizes your files, is it really necessary?
With the rapid growth and use of flash drives, it was only a matter of time before someone came up with the idea of compartmentalizing flash drives to make it easier to hide or share certain data. But our question is, do we really need this?
“Ever been in a situation where you have loaned your USB stick to someone and accidentally shared some sensitive files (maybe naughty pics) that were meant to be confidential? Human memory has this way of getting us into trouble! This may not be a problem anymore thanks to the brilliant Amoeba Modular USB Flash Drive. Simply unhook the ‘Private’ segment and share information safely!” Yanko Design states.
The designer of the flash drive, Hyunsoo, believes that this Amoeba Modular USB flash drive will shape the way of the future by offering the ability to sort your data on individual drives that can be used on their own or together to form one large flash drive. For example, you can keep them all together and simply remove the part that you want to share.
Although still in “concept” form, there is a chance this might become a reality. But the bigger question is, do we really need something that “fixes” what isn’t broken? Whatever happened to simply hiding or password-protecting your files or even removing files you don’t want shared?
