Ubisoft confirms Assassin’s Creed Mirage rumors, will officially reveal game on September 10 – onmsft.com

Yesterday we reported on rumors that the next Assassin’s Creed game was headed for a spring 2023 release. We also reported that the game (which was reportedly to be set in Baghdad and feature Basim as the main character) would be titled Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Since that time leaked images from the game have surfaced online. The images are apparently artwork for the game and not screen captures. Already Ubisoft has issued DMCA strikes for these images, and they have been removed from social media accounts sharing them.

Oddly enough, at the same time Ubisoft has posted a tweet of its own confirming the game’s existence over on the official Assassin’s Creed Twitter account.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the next Assassin’s Creed game.

We can’t wait to tell you more on September 10 at Ubisoft Forward: 9PM CEST | 12PM PT. #AssassinsCreed pic.twitter.com/92LoEcrrWs

As stated in the tweet, more will be unveiled about Assassin’s Creed Mirage at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward livestream event next Saturday, September 10.

According to all the speculation about Assassin’s Creed Mirage, it will be a return to the franchise’s roots and take inspiration from the first Assassin’s Creed, with an emphasis on stealth over the open-world roleplaying elements of later games.
