Far Cry 5 is coming next year, hopping on the franchise timeline with Far Cry Primal from 2015. Although, given its name, the game’s story might follow more closely with the continuation of Far Cry 4 instead.
As with any modern announcements, this one came through social media. The Far Cry official Twitter posted the news of earlier this morning.

Furthermore, according to Polygon, Ubisoft released its annual earnings today projecting that the publisher has three other titles on the docket for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. Far Cry 5 will be joined by another Assassin’s Creed game, Southpark: The Fractured But Whole, and The Crew 2.
